  • Log in to the CIM Course form
  • Locate the course in CIM
  • Click Edit Course button
  • For the Type of Change field
    • Select Amended if you are making changes to the course itself (ex. course title, course description, SLOs, etc.)
    • Select Adding Online Delivery if the only change you are making is adding online delivery; view Adding Online Delivery for more information
    • Select General Education if you are adding a MAC competency or Communicating Ideas in Context if you are adding a CW attribute (see below for more information)
  • Edit the fields relevant to your change(s)
  • At bottom of form, click Save Changes button if you are still working on the proposal or Start Workflow button to submit for approval
  • Reminder: course proposals are submitted for the fall of the upcoming academic year; view current deadlines here
  • Course resources, including the course revision checklist, are available here

  • Course level must be 100 level or 200 level
  • Selecting yes in the General Education section (near the bottom of the form) will allow you to complete the General Education fields
  • A second rationale is required to explain why the course is appropriate for the MAC competency requested
  • Select the MAC competency from the dropdown list
  • Complete the required MAC fields (highlighted in red)
  • Visit the MAC page for more information

  • If requesting the College Writing (CW) attribute, select yes in the Communicating Ideas & Contexts field
  • Attach syllabus

To reactivate or inactivate a course, the department head can email Lynn ([email protected]) or Kate ([email protected]). Please include a brief rationale and effective term for the inactivation or reactivation.

When inactivating a course, please refer to the CIM ecosystem located in the first field of the course listing (see below). If the course is referenced in a program, a program revision will be necessary to remove the inactive course.
